Aravalli Utsav - Celebrating the Ecological Importance of the Aravali Mountains through Photography and Education
The Aravallis are one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world, running through Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujarat. They provide critical socio-ecological services for the adjacent rural communities as well as the city residents of Gurgaon, Faridabad and Delhi. Enhancing the understanding of the role of Aravallis in the NCR and the challenges, can help build appreciation for their ecology and their importance to the NCR, and lay the groundwork for exploring options for their conservation.
This is the Vision and Objective of Aravalli Utsav
Aravalli Utsav is an initiative by iamgurgaon, in collaboration with India Habitat Centre, in partnership with India Photo Archive Foundation and supported by Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change It aims to build awareness of the Aravallis among the citizens by engaging through a photo exhibition, panel discussions and walks.
