The prototype for Eco Bench designed by Delhi-based architect, Henri Fanthome, has won the competition organised by NGO I Am Gurgaon. The results for the competition, an attempt by the NGO to involve the residents, were announced on September 10. The Eco Bench will be put up in the Aravalli Biodiversity Park, which stretches from Southern Ridge in Delhi to Gurgaon.

The results were decided after a prototype build of the five jury selections and public voting on the actual designs at site. The NGO said the design was an attempt to redefine the accepted notion of park bench of sitting with your feet down and facing in one direction. The idea was to develop a more dynamic and imaginative object.
