‘MillionTreesGurgaon’ is an ambitious goal of planting a million trees in Gurgaon – initiated by iamgurgaon and today it’s a large public-private initiative supported by the government, other Gurgaon NGO’s, corporates and civil society.

The first phase of plantation started from August 4, 2011 across various locations in Gurgaon. During the first plantation season (August 2011 – October 2011), over 25,000 trees have been planted in and around Gurgaon of which 15,000 trees have been planted in the Aravali Biodiversity Park, Gurgaon. Other areas where planting was done included GENPACT-Paras Nallah, Vidhya School

The Aravali Biodiversity Park, Gurgaon is dedicated to the creation, conservation and interpretation of forests native to the Aravali range. Once developed, the Aravali Biodiversity Park will give the citizens of Gurgaon access to 550 acres of pristine space and connect them with nature. The park will be a hub for leisure walks, jogging, trekking, bird watching, gardening and contemplation. The ‘milliontreesgurgaon’, aims at eventually transforming the Aravali Biodiversity Park, Gurgaon into a conservation sanctuary for birds, animals and plants.
