Know Your Trees: This initiative was designed to bring alive neighbourhood trees to children in our local communities and explain the importance of bio-diversity and the beautiful textures and patterns of bark, leaves, fruits and flowers. A critical aspect was to help children differentiate between native and decorative trees and understand the ecological purpose of native trees.This campaigns was aligned with community Earth Day celebrations.

The communities that took part in this initiative in 2015 included Central Park, World Spa, Garden Estate and Sun City. These were great fun for all age groups, the inquisitiveness of the children was heartening, they chose their tree to start with by choosing the leaf of a particular type. Then they identified the particular tree/shrub, while the tour was on and tagged the tree once they were able to recognise it. The enthusiasm shown by the participating adults was no less.
