Till 2014, we have successfully introduced 120 native species in the park. They are grown at our two in- situ nurseries, namely the Aranya and the Vanaja. They include some very rare native species from the forests of Udaipur, Jodhpur, Dehra Dun and Central India, such as Gardenia latifolia, Woodfordia fruticosa, Vallaris solanacea, Mareua arenaria, Capparis decidua, Hymenodictyon orixense, etc.
We have planted about 65,000 saplings so far in the Aravali bio diversity park with a mortality rate of 10%; the ones that die are replanted again during monsoon months.
This year all the planting activity was concentrated at Aravali Biodiversity Park, HP, Sentiss, KPMG, HDFC Life, Genpact, COWI, Fidelity, Dunnhumby, Nagarro, DLF Senior Citizen Council, together sponsored 13,000 saplings. There were more than 500 Children from various Schools of Gurgaon, like DPS Gurgaon, TSRS Aravalli, TSRS Moulsari, Manas Nayi Disha, Saksham, Happy School.
